Dear Judy, At an inexplicable impulse yesterday I Googled “Judith Grifka” and there immediately came upon the obituary of Dorothy, Temperance, MI, survived by daughter Judith. Am sorry for your loss and distress. There must have been no one more important in your life. The memories of our acquaintance at the 1960 National 4-H Club Congress in Chicago are among my most cherished. You told me then about knowing someone in your neighborhood with Veliquette as a last name. I later researched and published a book about the 12 North American generations of Veliquettes in my direct male line. Generations 4 and 5 lived at Raisin River c.1788-1820. So surely I’m related to a lot of people in Monroe County. With great memories of you and with sympathy for you and your family, Norm Veliquette

My thoughts and prayers are for those left behind after Dorothy's ascension. She was such a wonderful lady to share my 21 years of monthly meetings in IAAP with. She always had a great smile and supported all the members of IAAP with her grace, professionalism and knowledge. She was also very active in her church and other organizations and loved by all who knew her. I really enjoyed watching the video of her interesting life. She will now reap the reward and benefit of her earthly life. God Bless!

It was an honor to know Dorothy. She was a great mentor to me when I was a member of IAAP in the various capacities we had shared. She always had a smile on her face and a word of encouragement. Please accept my sincere condolences. She is running the "switchboard" in Heaven. Blessings and peace to all who knew her.

Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. Know that God is aware of the tears you are shedding. (Psalm 56:18) He will soon do what is said at Acts 24:15, which promises us of a resurrection of our loved ones. May that bring you hope. Take comfort in your good memories and allow your family and loving friends to help you through this difficult time.

I had the privilege of taking care of Dorothy for several years, and took care of her husband, Joe before that. Because my parents have passed away, Dorothy "adopted" me as her surrogate daughter. I loved her like she was my mother. It was wonderful feeling like part of a family again. I will always be grateful for the time I got to spend with Dorothy, Joe and their whole family. I love them all and will miss them very much.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family as you mourn Dorothy's passing. She was a lovely lady inside and out, and I was very happy to have her as a friend for so many years. She gave so freely of herself to IAAP over the years, and she will be missed by all who knew her. Cora Shaffer
